The vibrations were felt by the neighbours living in the surrounding dwellings, which led to discomfort and the impossibility to continue the manufacturing during night and weekend shifts. Mr. Vidiella declared that \u201c<strong>Respecting the local area and integrating our industrial activities into the local community is one of my top priorities<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately after its appointment, Comforsa\u2019s management team and Quality Department started working on a technical solution to the vibrations. They considered different options and finally chose the most innovative solution, which is the one that can guarantee the most successful outcome.<\/p>\n<p>The technical solution implemented has already been used in the United States and uses shock-absorbers made of stainless-steel wires and does not require shock-absorbing oils. The main advantage of this option is that the system can absorb shocks in an exponential way rather than just linearly, as it would be the case with more traditional solutions. Both the shock absorbers and the elevation and assembling system have been designed for the particular needs of the machinery used in the Comforsa 7\u2019s plant.<\/p>\n<p>The works have taken place over the summer productive brake in August, since it has been necessary to lift the main forging press of 8,000Tn so that the bespoke shock absorbing system could be set up underneath.<\/p>\n<p>The outcome has been as successful as expected and the reduction in the level of vibrations has been confirmed by two different official measurements, one from the private company ECA (AV Ingenieros) and the other from the Environment Department of the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya). The results of both measures are around a Law value of 70dB, which is as very good result as it is 5 dB below the maximum levels allowed by the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Comforsa considers this outcome a success and a benefit for the whole community of the town of Campdev\u00e0nol. Comforsa is now awaiting the approval of its application to extend the working shifts to nights and weekends, which would create new job vacancies. Finalment es va optar per la m\u00e9s innovadora i que don\u00e9s el millor resultat garantit.\r\n\r\nLa soluci\u00f3 t\u00e8cnica finalment implantada ha estat una emprada als Estats Units que utilitza amortidors de fil d\u2019acer inoxidable i que treballa totalment en sec sense olis d\u2019amortidors. Es tracta d\u2019amortidors de resposta exponencial i no linials, com es fa habitualment. S\u2019ha fet un disseny exclusiu, tant dels elements d\u2019amortiment com del sistema d\u2019elevaci\u00f3 i muntatge per la maquin\u00e0ria de Comforsa 7. L\u2019actuaci\u00f3 s\u2019ha realitzat durant tot el mes d\u2019agost passat, durant l\u2019aturada productiva d\u2019estiu, ja que ha estat necessari aixecar la premsa principal -que t\u00e9 un pes de 800Tm- per tal de poder col\u00b7locar a sota els amortidors calculats.\r\n\r\nEls resultats han estat els esperats i han estat corroborats per dues mesures oficials dels nivells de vibraci\u00f3, una per part d\u2019una ECA (<em>AV Ingenieros<\/em>) i una altra pel propi Departament de Medi Ambient de la Generalitat de Catalunya. En ambdues mesures els valor obtinguts han estat similars a un valor Law de 70 dB, que \u00e9s un molt bon resultat, i que est\u00e0 5 dB per sota dels nivells m\u00e0xims permesos per la normativa.\r\n\r\nComforsa considera un \u00e8xit l\u2019obra realitzada i un b\u00e9 per tota la comunitat de Campdev\u00e0nol. En aquests moments Comforsa resta a l\u2019espera de la resoluci\u00f3 del Consell Comarcal respecte a la sol\u00b7licitud per poder treballar en el tercer, quart i cinqu\u00e8 torn, que donaria opci\u00f3 a l\u2019increment de llocs de treball.
